As a certified clinical hypnotherapist I know what hypnotherapy should be. Hypnotherapy is not what most people think it is. It is nothing like the hypnotist’s act you see on TV. You are in a trance, but totally aware of everything going on in the room. If you want to stop, you simply open your eyes. During hypnosis, and after, you will not do anything you do not want to do. Hypnotherapy is simply about accepting or rejecting suggestions.
What makes hypnosis work?
While in the hypnotic trance, you are able to access and be in touch with your subconscious. With such access, we can uncover anything you may have repressed throughout the years. Once uncovered, we are able to resolve any issues in your past that may, unknowingly, be affecting you today. With your approval, I can also give you suggestions which will help you to change an unwanted behavior or your way of feeling.
Uses of Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy can be used for a number of different reasons. Among other things, hypnotherapy can be used for weight loss, as well as changing ways of thinking, habits and actions. Using the subconscious, problems from your past, perhaps with people no longer in your life, can be resolved. It is possible to do this because the conscious defense mechanisms we have often block access to more difficult times. This would be acceptable if those past issues were not affecting your everyday life.
Age regression is used to return to different places in your past. Incidents long forgotten are often remembered. This is all in the process of resolving underlying problems.
The use of hypnosis for relaxation and anger release is an almost certain success. Hypnotherapy is an excellent adjunct to talk therapy. Let’s talk more about it and see if it is something that can benefit you.
